Javier Zanetti is a footballer who started his career in the Talleres then Banfield and later went on to play for Internazionale where he was captain from the year 2001. He has played a total of 1114 official games and is one of the most famous players in Argentina.
He made his debut for Banfield in 1993 and went on to become a regular for the club, earning the title El Taladro after only one season. He became a fan favourite for the team and was even called up to the national team. He moved to Inter Milan in 1995 and was a key member of the side that won the Champions League in 1998, the first silverware for the team under the ownership of Massimo Moratti.
Throughout his career, he was versatile and always had a place in the squad wherever the manager needed him to be. He was a great right-back, but could also play in midfield or defensively.
