Paul Zanetti
Paul Zanetti is an Australian cartoonist who has been a published and syndicated cartoonist for more than 40 years. He is known for his satirical and humorous style of political cartooning and has received numerous awards, including the Walkley Award, Australia’s equivalent to the Pulitzer Prize.
Mr Zanetti began contributing caricatures to Sydney’s The Sun at the age of 16, and later became a full-time cartoonist for The Daily Telegraph and Sunday Telegraph, Australia’s largest newspapers. He has been syndicated worldwide and his cartoons appear in a variety of national and international publications.
After a move from Sydney, Zanetti and his wife Michelle decided to build their dream home on the Gold Coast. They wanted a Hollywood Hills-style house with sweeping skyline views. The couple searched for an architect who was familiar with mid-century modernist architecture.
They settled on Tallai’s The Panorama, a property with a stunning view of the city. The couple spent two years designing and building their dream home, which features a Playboy-inspired wet bar, retro furnishings and classic American cars.
When they decided to put their Tallai home on the market, the Zanetti’s hoped to find the perfect buyer who would appreciate the house’s design and location. The couple had always been interested in the mid-century modernist architecture of Richard Neutra, Frank Lloyd Wright and Pierre Koenig, so they aimed to create a property that would reflect their passions.
After many trips to the Gold Coast and discussions with real estate agents, the Zanetti’s finally found their dream home. The family moved into their custom-built, walkable, mid-century modern house in the early 2000s. The family enjoys the lifestyle that they have created and are happy to share their story with the world.
